I have missed TechSpecs and File Cards for nearly 2 decades now. Hasbro had a true stroke of genius when they included those with their toys, it sucks they don't seem to want to use them anymore. Of course, if they did, they'd probably just get AI to write some slop...

Those profiles for the characters really did make a huge difference at sparking my interest in the toys. Atleast we know who Nautica and Shredhead are thanks to the comics. But I sure do miss those old techspecs bios

Did they ever actually say it would be 1984 toy focused? I haven't seen that if so. This is from an interview with Hironori Kobayashi after Convoy was released where he states the line is about the 'unexplored aspects of TFs' and that they're looking to expand to a wider range of characters

Télécharger des sous-titres pourrait bientôt devenir de l’histoire ancienne. TechSpecs a présenté Ray, un lecteur vidéo dopé à l’IA capable de générer et traduire des sous-titres dans plus de 200 langues. L’application s’appuie sur un partenariat avec OpenSubtitles, dont la base de plus de 10 millions de sous-titres pourra être sollicitée et qui a servi comme matière d’entraînement pour l’IA. Ray repose sur un concept hybride. L’app va soit aller récupérer le bon fichier sur OpenSubtitles, soit faire appel à l’IA pour créer des sous-titres en temps réel à partir de l’audio. Tous les fichiers sont ensuite enregistrés au format SRT sur l’appareil de l’utilisateur. Plus de 200 langues seront prises en charge. Ray cherche également à se positionner comme une plateforme média complète faisant largement appel à l’IA. Les développeurs promettent une fonction de doublage multilingue par IA, de filtrage de contenu en temps réel ou encore une suite de restauration vidéo avec upscale 4K. On y trouvera aussi un système de colorisation, d’interpolation jusqu’à 60 images par seconde et de stabilisation, ainsi que des outils audio pour isoler les dialogues ou séparer les pistes. Une recherche textuelle dans la vidéo sera également présente, tout comme l’affichage simultané de quatre langues de sous-titres ou des descriptions audio générées par IA. Le logiciel sera disponible sur Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android et même tvOS. La version 100 % local est annoncée à 49 dollars en early bird pour un achat unique, tandis que Ray Cloud (qui ajoute le traitement dans le nuage et l’accès à OpenSubtitles) sera proposé à 19 dollars par mois en paiement annuel. Une offre « à vie » est également proposée à 499 dollars. Les informations sont disponibles sur le site officiel, sachant que le Kickstarter ouvrira le 12 mai. Une gamme d’écrans 4K QLED avec l’app intégrée appelée Ray Display Series sera aussi lancée au même moment. TechSpecs n’est pas la seule entreprise à s’intéresser à ce domaine. L’équipe de VLC planche sur une intégration de l’IA pour des sous-titres grâce à Whisper, qui n’est pas encore disponible sur la version stable. En attendant, plusieurs lecteurs alternatifs existent comme Submarine Player, qui peut fonctionner en hors-ligne, mais demande un abonnement.
