Off to London to see a matinee show, but the crowds at Bristol Templemeads is not the one.

I always check the changeover times when booking now. I've been caught twice, once at Bristol Templemeads and missed my train, and had a narrow escape at Birmingham New Street.

Oh yes, the temporary flyover by TempleMeads. That was horrible to drive over. Bristol is so much better now with these changes.

Reminds me of the time I was going through Bristol Templemeads en route from Rouen to Cardiff when 3 older guys and a grandson got on the train. They didn’t sit down but one said excitedly in a Barnsley accent, “Ee lad, didst tha see that? It’s a [some number]!” and they all wrote it down.

That gull hates me. There's a gull who lurks around between my house & the shops. It sees me and just screeches and swoops. I had this once in Bristol, when I left Templemeads and was chased past the Brunel place & had to hide in a News agents. Chased me out into traffic. It bore me ill, that gull.

Bristol - come out of Templemeads, down the hill, walk round the back to the bascule bridge, cross Queens Square, hit Harbourside. Voyage of discovery and the best and worst of British history.

What struck me as odd at the time about Menzies was that it had its book shelves organised by publisher, rather than author/subject. At least the one at Bristol Templemeads station did.
