Scute-in’ along with this Eastern Box Turtle and it was so much more difficult than I thought (and I thought it would be really difficult). My son wanted to help me paint, I promise I don’t paint outside the lines normally.

#easternboxturtle or #Terrapenecarolinacarolina is the only box turtle native to #newjersey and is a Species of Special Concern due to habitat loss and climate change. It’s been very dry so not seen one until now. Gorgeous. This is a female.

I had to relocate a box turtle to the front yard near the woods this morning. It's not where they were going but the backyard isn't safe with the big dog. She's super sweet unless you are a wild critter so to the front woods they went. Happy trails Boxy!
