I love this idea! I’ve been using TextExpander for years but this is an even simpler solution!
As semesters start and you find yourself repeatedly answering emails with the same questions from students, this is my annual reminder that you can make all your frequent responses email signatures and just select them from your signature list to respond. You're welcome. #academicsky

I've used TextExpander since 2008(!!) & adore it and use it for all sorts of little text replacement things, but it's gotten buggy/slow & costs $40/year

A manuscript-specific TextExpander snippet saving me some serious time
I need to paste the same links a lot – so I built a Keyboard Maestro macro that lets me bring up a list of them.
It's like TextExpander, but I can also apply transformations:
- Prepend "https://"
- Paste in all caps (useful for text layers in video edits)

Trying out espanso (a text expander) today after one million years of waffling about when/whether to try TextExpander (and after a scholarly book copyedit where I repeated some language in comments kind of A Lot). Wish me luck tech-ing :)

also decided to create an ios shortcut to automate it
also also set up a repeating reminder in my reminders app that will automatically launch that shortcut when i check off the reminder
