On the top Sgòrr a' Chadail on Liathach at 700m were amounts of terricolous lichens: Thamnolia vermicularis, Alectoria nigricans and Lepra dactylina. #LichenGBI

i hit 2k observations on inaturalist from yesterday's hike! here is #2000, thamnolia vermicularis, in the dry northeast olympic peninsula alpine. i hope i can continue to help promote lichen in my area! i'm constantly awed & humbled by how great (smart/kind/patient/positive) other inatters are

i saw a marmot! but couldn't get a photo! :( awesome day but not one i want to repeat (at least until it melts out). fog blocked all the views but i'll be back...

i really reaaally wanted this to work for me but honestly i feel it's better suited for oily skin . i found it to be a bit drying but otherwise gentle. there is something in it my skin Hates but they are plant-based & irritant free !!! :3

Glad you like the picture! The woodland and some of the heath is good for oceanic bryophytes (e.g. oceanic Plagiochila species and small Lejeuneaceae in the woods, and Herbertus hutchinsiae and Campylopus setifolius in heaths), and I found the lichen Thamnolia vermicularis on the summit plateau.
