#TheButcherBoy Embodies every single thing that is wrong with Ireland sorry to announce this on #StPatricksDay
#Speirgorm

It's a hauntingly brilliant film. The truth in it is brutal. A haunting reality check on a brutal history of abuse that to this day has never been properly addressed or redressed. Ruined lives and families.Fucking cnuts.

Have to go for an Irish film this week. I can imagine many people outside of Ireland has seen #TheButcherBoy, but it's great.

Hilarious and poignant at the same time.

Wanna feel old? He turned 33 last week. #EamonnOwens #TheButcherBoy

Very poignant when he returns home to American news and our beloved Sinead O Connor announces his best pal Joe is there as he gets carted off 😭

What a fantastic child actor though. How the fuck did he not get an Oscar for this?

This has been on my to read list for such a long time & finally started this morning, as I make my holiday reading selection over the next few weeks.

I'd seen the film adaptation when it came out but it reads today through a very different lens.
