Solzhenitsyn on the early development of Soviet “extrajudicial reprisals” and the self-serving justifications used:

#OTD Published on december 28, 1973, The Gulag Archipelago is a non-fiction work by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. Based on survivor accounts, it exposes the Soviet forced labor camp system. This work led to the author's expulsion from the USSR in 1974.

📚📖 Library Fail: ordered book 2 and not book 1 📚📖
Still mid 'I am Dynamite' so no rush. Ordered book 1. Although doesn't look like they have book 3. Future problems.

#TheGulagArchipelago one of the most interested elements in this very readable book is the explanation of how intelligent people were brutalized by kangaroo justice. There was always the facade of justice. Victims had to sign incriminating documents. The signature proved the system was just!
