How did you find the last indie game you loved? Steam? Reddit? A random YouTube video? A streamer with 200 viewers? A friend who wouldn’t stop talking about it?
As a small indie team, this is something we think about a lot.

Right now, The Purring Engine is full of sketches, experiments, temporary UI, discarded ideas, and things we're still figuring out. We could wait until everything looks polished.

In The Purring Engine, civilization collapsed long ago, and meows now survive by rebuilding machines they barely understand. Outside the settlements is the Black Fog. Your fortress keeps you alive — but that also makes it easier for things in the fog to find you. #ThePurringEngine #IndieDev #GameDev

This is a very early UI sketch from The Purring Engine.
Take a quick look at the image: what are the first three things your eyes notice?
If they’re completely different from what we intended, that’s useful feedback.

We’re okay with rough UI, placeholder effects, and limited content if the game itself is fun enough to play again.
What are you willing to forgive in an early demo, and what makes you immediately quit?
