I am thrilled to share something I’ve been quietly building behind the scenes: ThriveLib: Reclaiming Joy, Balance, and Boundaries in Libraries, a new virtual conference focused entirely on the well-being of library workers. Registration is now open for ThriveLib, a new virtual conference focused exclusively on library workers’ well-being. Taking place August 12–14, 2025, ThriveLib centers library staff, not patrons, and is grounded in the belief that a healthy workplace is foundational to good service. Library workers across all roles are being asked to do more with less while navigating burnout, compassion fatigue, blurred boundaries, and increasingly unsafe conditions.

If you've been around here a while, you know what ThriveLib means to me. It came out of years of thinking, reading, and living the burnout and compassion fatigue conversation as a librarian, not just writing about it. I wanted a space that centered the people doing the work instead of just talking about them, paid speakers, sliding-scale tickets, recordings and certificates because rest is part of wellness too.
