Klopt, misschien was dit wel de 1e Cafetaria in Groningen die de eierbal verkocht. De ‘Timbertown Chip Shop’ aan de Hereweg. Door schaarste van vlees, werden vegetarische eierballen een alternatief voor de Scotch Eggs.

I have really fond memories of those wooden "castle" style playgrounds (mine was Timbertown in Cary IL); I was looking into the origin of those just this week and found out most had to be demolished because of the treated wood potentially leeching arsenic into the soil.

They need government to really address their economic needs. Sadly, since Reaganism ("government is the problem, not the solution") both political parties have retreated from such commitments. Trump's solution to the fragmentation of communities like Timbertown: punish the most vulnerable.

I can't help but think about the residents of "Timbertown" 20+ years later. As rural areas and small towns lose their sense of identity and purpose, many are looking to rightwing populism. It makes people feel powerful, at least temporarily, but it does not solve their problems.
