the problem is, again, Linux software being extremely convoluted to use. literally just make some big fucking buttons and have timewarrior be the backend!

I paused my paper #writing for a moment and realized what my writing workflow was looking like -- this is what Neovim, ripgrep, and tmux obsession leads to (ft. ThePrimeagen).😂

Good news: finished latest iteration; onto TODO's for the @juliacon.bsky.social Proceedings!

June 29, 1978 - Doctor Who and the Time Warrior, as novelized by Terrence Dicks, was first published by Target Books.

Every story from an Unearthly Child onwards can be found on my Twitter account and Mastadon, but thought I would finally start using Blue Sky as well as you never know what is going to happen #DoctorWho #TimeWarrior

Got told about timewarrior, trying that

@spacehobo https://timewarrior.net/reference/timew-chart.1/ and I'm not sure what you mean about the missing man page - at least on Debian I see https://manpages.debian.org/trixie/timewarrior/timew.1.en.html

I like the Sontarans introduction. There are no battle fleets and invading armies, just a single soldier in a tiny space craft. Despite this Linx has a commanding presence from the first scene and I find myself oddly sympathetic towards him #TimeWarrior

@cjwatson Ah, that may be a Debian-supplied man page. The Alpine package timewarrior-doc has basically only a copy of the web site.

Made this video to show a friend how the Govee DreamView T1 Pro bias lights handle late-Pertwee era Dr. Who opening titles. Not bad! #govee #drwho #doctorwho #classicdoctorwho #jonpertwee #timewarrior @goveeofficial.bsky.social

I can't believe that it takes nearly 50 years for us to finally get to see a Sontaran on horse back #TimeWarrior

So the #timewarrior web site has this image in its banner, in a file named "swatch". But nothing on the site gives me any hint as to how to get `timew` to actually do anything like this.

Is it a third-party plugin? Is it just a set of options people keep […]

I don't have a refined workflow for tracking specific tools/languages. For this one time, I used timewarrior.net with a couple of git hooks (I needed it to work on both Mac and Linux). For general time tracking for client work, I use moons.next-planet.com by @kslazinski.bsky.social.

"Ah, yes. A race of great technical achievement, but lacking the morale to withstand a determined assault"
It's interesting that the Sontarans have detailed knowledge of the Time Lords. Their God like status continues to be watered down little by little #TimeWarrior

Interestingly the fact that the Sontarans have time travel technology doesn't play a bigger role in the show. When the technology is developed by the Daleks it becomes a focus of their stories. I feel like time travelling Sontarans is somewhat overlooked #TimeWarrior

@spacehobo It isn't Debian-supplied. Alpine probably just doesn't build it for some reason (maybe a missing asciidoc build-dependency or something).

I'm transfixed by the idea of using plain text for your data storage. SQLite is nice, but looking at your data (and editing it) via text editor is even nicer.

What are some tools that follow that principle? I can think of Obsidian and Timewarrior, know any others?

timewarrior might be an option, but I'm not sure their CLI is as good of a fit for me. github.com/GothenburgBi...

How to Hack the Just Mindset in Software Development
The word "just" in software development often leads to underestimated tasks, consuming entire weekends. Here’s how to hack this mindset and optimize productivity. You Should Know: 1. Automate Task Estimation Use tools like `timewarrior` (Linux) to track time spent on "small" tasks: timew start "fixing_tiny_bug" timew stop Analyze logs to debunk the "just" myth. 2. Pre-Commit Hooks for Scope Control…

This felt like a modern #DoctorWho series opener. Introducing a new companion was doing to be difficult after Jo. They could easily have had UNIT hire him a replacement but they go with something completely different and it works so much better #TimeWarrior

I remember not being a fan of Rubeish when I last watched this story but he is actually much more entertaining than I remembered him. Not sure if the name was meant to be antiphrasis but he is particularly useful in this story #TimeWarrior

"What subservient poppycock. You're still living in the Middle Ages." I love that line (there are actually a few good comic moments in this story). Elizabeth Sladen really owns this role and delivers the dialogue perfectly #TimeWarrior

I'm not sure about the probic vent. On one hand when Linx explains "it means we must always face our enemies" that sounds logical, but I'm not sure that I really get the whole honourable vibe from Sontarans that I get from Ice Warriors and Draconians #TimeWarrior
