This just won Best Music Video by a Māori Artist and it is so good: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNaZ...

(This was the largest march in Aotearoa New Zealand's history, Hīkoi mō te Tiriti, which happened at the same time as MP Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke's world-famous haka in Parliament -- Nov 14, 2024.)

Is that Tā Tipene O’Regan? What a show of disrespect from Luxon.

Much of Waitematā Station Plaza now open. The mahi toi in the image (beamed down saucer-like from the skies) is a multi-tonne concrete lid designed by iwi artist Graham Tipene-the place where Te Waihorotiu meets Te Waitematā and celebrates the life that flows
Looking fine!

The director said Mum was already in her casket, but they made it possible.

Tipene really are as wonderful as the TV series.

I cringe at the back holding, back slapping he did of Sir Tipene. That makes my skin crawl because it’s an “ownership” behaviour I know only too well. I’m not even sure if he’s aware he’s doing it 🤢

I know the right did the "unflattering freezeframe" a lot to Jacinda so I am a bit wary of capturing one moment like this, but it is a weird combo of things when you add the look, the teeth, the finger and Tipene O'Regan's expression together

The first Japanese to live in AoNZ was Noda Asajiro. He arrived here in the late 1880s/early 1890s in Invercargill. His father was a shipbuilder & Asajiro was accidentally left on board a ship when it sailed from Japan. He later married Rihi Tipene Te Ahu of Ngāti Mahuta & settled in Ohinewai

If you’re in Tāmaki Makaurau for the holidays, I strongly encourage a visit to the Olafur Eliasson: Your curious journey exhibition at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki.
While you’re there, see interactive artwork Waimahara from artist Graham Tipene in Myers Park too.
