I don't know if I'd describe a construction project in Rome uncovering Roman archaeological ruins as "surprising". If they found a bunch of Han Dynasty or Toltec stuff in Rome *that* would be surprising.

It's actually sort of amazing how Americans will sometimes unironically post like they are living in the Toltec Empire.
Just seen someone, in re the “which part of the world would you eat from” saying they wouldn’t go for Europe unless assured it had potatoes and tomatoes (fair enough) and pasta.
