Nerdy mesoamerican here! The Quetzal is a small green bird with a loooong tail, and historically it has been taken as a sacred creature for when it flies it looks like a feathered snake!! This is why Kukulkan (mayan culture) and Quetzalcoatl (toltec and nahua culture) exist!!
