when i got home with the house plants yesterday ..there was another plant that i forgot i ordered last weekend 😁there is no hope for me 😁 its Begonia Torsa ..a X between B.Grandis and an unknown form from Bhutan . the leaves can get to 18ins across ..supposed to be very hardy we will see

You may remember one of Calvin Robinson's previous fundraisers (July '24) was an attempt to buy Torsa Island and save it "For Christendom" from a radical Muslim preacher (who the owner wasn't going to sell it to anyway)

Here's Begonia 'Torsa', a Tuberous type of hybrid Begonia. Enormous green leaves w/ red veined reverses and like B. grandis (parent plant), reproducing from bulbils in the leaf axils. Blooms: pink. Goes dormant in winter. *Possibly* hardy in USDA Zones 7,8,9. Easy care (but goes dormant).🌱 #begonias
