Over the past few days of #TourDeFleece26 I’ve been spinning this gorgeous BFL/Silk hand dyed braid. This blend is my favourite, the sheen, the softness, it spins like butter. Braid is from Pigment & Ply, one of my favourite UK yarn dyers.

Day 4 of the #TourDeFleece26. Yesterday I finished the first half of this spin, today I’ve started the second. Now I’ve gotten into a flow it’s going much quicker than I anticipated!

Days 2 and 3!

Day 2 was slow and rocky. I noticed my tension line had frayed a bit, and the uptake was all off. I prepped my fiber and spun what I could.

Day 3, the tension line snapped. After adjusting, we were finally flying.

Prepped balls of roving closer to the size im looking for. It's a Shetland wool with sari silk sprinkles. Reminds me of funfetti! Yarn plied and ready to be set. You can see some of the sprinkles now that it's on a nittynoddy.

I didn’t spend as much time spinning today but I made more progress than yesterday, I was able to get into a smooth rhythm with much less breakages.

Day one of #TourDeFleece26 ends with a good amount of ramie on the bobbin. There’s been some frustration but it’s definitely easier on the wheel than on a drop spindle. However it is a slow spin so we’ll see how much I do of this before I get tired of it!

This will be my #tourdefleece26 thread, so mute if you don’t want spinning rambling this month! This is bobbin 1 for a traditional 3-ply of Moon Joy from @fossilfibers.bsky.social ‘s beautiful Artemis TdF kit. This has been an absolute joy to spin!
An espinner with a gradient singles yarn spun in it, the yarn starts at dark red and goes through the rainbow to end at a deep purple.
