I had enough energy this week to snap and thwack the Advent yarns I spun and plied during TourDeFleece. They now need to dry before moving back to WIP status in a woven scarf. Looking forward to writing the roundup post after they've all dried!

This was from a few weeks ago. That #tourdefleece spin is still being spun.(!) And I acquired two more Helen Mawdsley cross-bars in the process. 😊

Perhaps it’s a bit of a lull after the TourDeFleece?

Also, the new EU packaging laws (PPWR just came in) will be hitting small fiber arts crafters hard right now, with many shops/artisans forced to halt business until exemptions are made.

Tour de Femmes is now also finished with plenty more plying and spinning.

The end #TourDeFleece roundup is on Patreon, and I'm spinning into overtime. Letting the singles bobbins rest, then plying and wet finishing them. Then I can start weaving - lots of plans!

A number of wooden spinning wheel bobbins with various colours of yarns rest on a bamboo cutting board - labels with a little bit of the fiber fluff folded inside are scattered over their respective bobbins. Loose skeins of 2-plied handspun yarns in various blues, greens and purples are squished onto an Ikea chair, held in place with cotton stay ties. They have not yet been wet-finished, but look lovely and soft.

Same fiber - half spun from the fold (left), the other half spun with short forward draw (right). Both were chain plied.

It is so cool to me how different a fiber can look when spun a different way! 🧶

Woke with a headache but I wasn't going to miss the final stage of the #TdFF. Decided to test out the battery pack with the Fold and spin on my couch. 🤷‍♀️ Glad I had already decided last night I wasn't completing my goals.

Finished the 2nd bobbin of purple pink and green. Likely not finishing the 3rd by the end of the Tour. Finished plying the brown and blue. Then I hung out at our local fiber store and talked myself into buying a small bag of rolags to try. Next time I'll try making my own.

Left bobbin is the singles of purple, pink, and green. Right is the 2 ply brown and blue. Blue and black Roland set in an arc over the bobbin with singles from the other rolags. Not much there but I'll try to chain ply it and hopefully have enough to work into some weaving.

TdF day 13! A family member has been in the hospital, so I've been doing a LOT of therapeutic knitting. Today's spinning: finished the single and the last bit if the 3rd batt. Went ahead and plied it. It's so sparkly!
