I'm so excited about Toyota's production of EVs with solid batteries coming out in 2027. Apparently the batteries will recharge in 10 minutes and will retain up to 90% performance for 15 years, making battery replacement a problem of the past.

who was it on here who was saying it must kill toyota's marketing dept that they can't tout one of the most widespread and successful things their pickup trucks are used for
The Houthi-aligned Bani Hashish tribes are massing in preparation to “liberate” the remaining Yemeni territory outside Houthi control. It’s a sea of Toyotas with mounted machine guns. I think this is what we should mean when we say Toyotathon from now on.

I want to swap out my old Corolla for an EV next year, but I have zero interest in spending $50k for one, which is the only price US carmakers are interested in.

If one of them rolled out a $22k EV it be the best-selling vehicle within a year. So why won't they? Big Oil, the Shithead in power.

Also, meanwhile in China...

It's amazing that they can make these cars affordable in China, but the US is so overly designed to keep you poor that you'd need to pay 2-4x more for the same car here.

Obviously these companies are structured very differently. Toyota's value is found in the products it makes and brings to market, which people can buy and use. Tesla's value is from Elon Musk sometimes saying things like "I will invent magical taxis by November" and shareholders pissing themselves
Just for comparison. Tesla has delivered a total of 3,878 Cybertrucks.

In 2023, Toyota produced an average of about 24,000 vehicles per day.
Tesla is worth over $150 billion more than Toyota by market capitalization

The fraud that keeps Tesla trading at 29 TIMES Toyota's price-to-earnings ratio is almost impossible to comprehend... apparently.
I live in the largest town in Britain, and we have a big Tesla dealership.
I have seen exactly three 2025- registered Swastikars, including in around 18,000 miles of motorway travel.
I’m not saying the UK sales figures are being manipulated, I’m just saying the cars aren’t out there being driven.

Until the pandemic, and apparently resuming, all Toyota staff were sent on factory tours paid by the company.

Toyota's CEO laps their cars on a track.
Toyota still has executives start by working the line specifically because understanding how a car is built is fundamental to quality and running a car company. This rush to code that is not fully understood shows how little companies value quality.

Toyota's rebrand announced today pushes Haas #F1 team CLOSER, not further, away from the former's return to #Formula1...and if Ferrari don't like it? Tough!

Here's why.
