I'm super proud of the fact that my website has no tracking, no cookies*, no registration/sign-up and no ads. It's rare in today's internet, and that's a shame.

How about we just assume that nobody wants any tracking cookies? At all. Ever. And then, *if* someone decides they'd love some tracking cookies, they can just pop into their settings and enable them.

idk if it's a failure of the legislation itself (I haven't read it) but it's kinda fucked up how "cookie consent" dialogues put so much focus on the cookies themselves, and not the actual tracking and selling of user data, etc.

someone has stolen my data from anyone i've ever given it to. every website has 800 tracking cookies. i log in and see stupid opinions and propaganda on every social app. who cares, man.
I’m concerned that Americans are flocking to a number of adversary-owned social media platforms. We still need a comprehensive and risk-based approach to assessing and mitigating the risks of foreign-owned apps.
