#TrainingTip: It's OK to ask for help! Training #dogs can be TOUGH! Many so-called "tried & true" methods DON'T WORK (ex, yelling at dog, smack on the butt, using a gentle lead or ANY OTHER special leash, shock collars [NONE OF THESE WORK]) it's OK to do research, ask friends!

Good morning Bluesky! todays #Trainingtip: the Romanian deadlift (RDL) can be an intimidating exercise but it’s amazing for training the glutes and hamstrings. To break it down simply: the motion isn’t bending forward, it’s pushing your hips backwards! (1/2)

#TrainingTip: The below is SO important when training your #Dogs: Positive Reinforcement isn't just treats, it's a whole method & approach that will do SO much good for your dog!
#DogSky #caninecompanions #adoptdontshop #GoldenRetriever

In the below: Positive Reinforcement does not just mean treats. It means "Good boys" AND *instead* of using negative tones (e.g., "No" or "ah-ah" etc), u say nothing & show your dog what you DO want and redo it until they get it right, with PRAISE (ONLY) when done right!

#Friday #DidYouKnow?: It doesn't matter WHAT trauma your dog (rescue or not) had in his/her past, it's ALL about how YOU GO FORWARD ⏭️!
TRAINING OUT aggression, anxiety, etc., is a matter of 👉earning trust👈 and POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT Training (NO other technique will work).😉👍

Howdy Bluesky todays #Trainingtip: stretching is just as important as loading up the weights and a great way to stretch is through PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) a type of stretching that calls for contraction in a lengthened position. Small thread below 👇

#trainingtip of the day! Is it deadlift day but your lower back hurts? Consider switching up to a hex bar deadlift, single DB or kettlebell DL. These exercises take strain off your lower back by keeping the weight closer to your center of gravity #fitnesssky

#Trainingtip of the day 🎉 do you have an excessive forward lean when you squat? The culprit might be tight calves! The ankle needs to be able to dorsiflex to the proper angle in order to drop the hips deep enough for a good form squat, as well as prevent lower back pain. (1/2)

#Trainingtip! Don’t be afraid to trade in the iron for cables/bands(occasionally) this change in modalities can impact your muscles in different ways! For example resistance bands ADD resistance as the stretch so end ROM gets more engagement. Switch up the equipment, keep your body guessing!

#trainingtip of the day! Sure muscle building is cool, but don’t neglect balance training! A few sets of single leg stability work prior to lifting can help develop balance, even brushing your teeth on one foot can help with balance! Make it a habit and stay upright 😃

Goood morning! Hope everyone had a good holiday 🍗 today’s #trainingtip: feeling…dehydrated?😵‍💫 Believe it or not milk may be better for hydration than water alone, with its electrolytes, plus fat and protein content, milk stays in the body longer, so grab that gallon, and maybe some Advil😬

#trainingtip of the day! Cardio isn’t necessarily reserved for the treadmill. If you hate running but want to get the heart rate up try:
•battle ropes
•ski erg
•rowing
•swimming
•high rep dumbbell work
•boxing
•medicine ball work

There’s tons of possibilities, if you’re feeling bored, change it up!

Goooooood mornin Bluesky! Today’s #trainingtip of the day: worried that run will kill your gains? Not so fast! The “interference effect” of cardio has been shown recently to be overstated, and majority of people (excluding pro athletes) should have no reason to fear some added cardio

#Trainingtip of the day:

#Consistency is 🔑 and choosing a set time of day to workout can greatly increase adherence to a program. So block that hour off your schedule and GET TO WORK

Today’s #Trainingtip hitting the same exercise from different positions engages different muscles, close grip bench challenges the triceps more over standard grip, wider squats challenge the glutes more, etc. doing the same lift at different angles is great for adding volume and developing physique
December 7, 2024 at 3:08 PM
Howdy Bluesky today’s #trainingtip: if you feel overly sore or potentially injured, added rest is important, but so is consistency! Consider swapping your scheduled workout with cardio or other low intensity work avoiding the hurt area so you remain true to your training schedule
December 3, 2024 at 5:15 PM
#trainingtip of the day! Just starting out? Consider developing stabilization and muscle endurance before diving head first into the heavy weights. Single arm/single leg exercises even out imbalances and develop core strength, which helps avoid overuse injuries. Remember it’s a marathon not a sprint
November 21, 2024 at 5:31 PM
Goood mornin Bluesky! Today’s #trainingtip of the day is to set your goals! Exercise without a goal in mind can lead to burnout.
Set something specific (but realistic) and chase it down! But still celebrate the process as you get closer and closer to that goal
November 23, 2024 at 1:58 PM
Gooooood morning Bluesky! #Trainingtip of the day is to make sure to cover all 3 planes of motion. The sagittal, frontal, and transverse POMs will not only develop different muscles but will allow for a more well rounded physique, better athleticism and avoid potential imbalances
November 20, 2024 at 12:28 PM
#trainingtip of the day: Picking up heavy weights is a great way to get bigger BUT putting down the weights is just as if not more important! Eccentric contractions done at high intensity (also known as negatives) have been shown to increase hypertrophy more optimally than concentric movements
November 19, 2024 at 1:55 PM
#Trainingtip of the day: don’t waste your money on fitness “hacks” detox drinks, waist trainers, and loads of different expensive supplements. In most cases the payoff is negligible and at worst can be detrimental to your health. Stick to what’s proven! Complete protein, creatine and hard work
November 22, 2024 at 4:14 PM
#Trainingtip of the day! Make sure to change up your rep ranges regularly to target strength (4-8 reps) hypertrophy (8-12 reps) and muscular endurance (12+ reps) you still develop strength/hypertrophy in the higher rep ranges but the focus on endurance is greater! #fitness #strengthtraining #gains
November 17, 2024 at 5:36 PM
#trainingtip are you struggling to find the motivation to get off the couch and workout today? Change into your gym clothes, put your shoes on and fill up your water bottle! I know sometimes it’s tough to get going but knocking out some micro obstacles can be the start you need to get there
December 13, 2024 at 5:16 PM
Howdy Bluesky! #trainingtip of the day: wanna build up your forearms but don’t feel like dropping cash on gadgets that might not even work? Grab some wood, a screw and a driver and start making holes, it’s a brutal exercise sure to develop the arms, at a fraction of the cost

Ever asked a question... and been met with silence? 😳

‼️ Don't answer it yourself.

✅ Count to five in your head.

💡People need thinking time, not rescuing.

🫣 Silence isn't awkward.
🙏 It's where learning begins.
