Not sure whether that is better or worse than Google Maps assuming a second bus is preferable to a 15 minute walk, even with 'fewer transfers' preferred.

Might be just me, but Travelwest comes across as worse at suggesting journeys that fail a sanity test. Also, no options for wheelchair friendly routes or to set walking preferences, both of which Google has. For good measure, Travelwest bus arrival prediction times are rocky.
