I am BEGGING the state of Oregon to realize that funding TriMet helps downtown recovery.
It’s not just transit bringing folks to downtown, it’s also the fact that union TriMet employees make decent wages and those dollars get directly put back into small businesses in our city.

the stakes of the 2027 session are existential for trimet
I strongly support expanding TriMet and have started to call around to Metro Councilors about what the barriers are to Metro taking over TriMet so that local control can enable greater investment. The state cut TriMet funding, not the City, and regardless of who runs it, we need to expand it.
