Yes, Davos, the playground for rich and famous today was once home for desperate tuberculosis patients seeking a cure in sanatoria

Elon Musk tried to get the same hair plugs for his pubes and it got infected and that’s why his dick’s all weird. Damn near took all his pubic tubercle and everything just collapsed inward like a cake from a too-hot oven from there

Drawing of a tuberculosis infection or a watermelon? You decide.

While the venomous spines of puss caterpillars are hidden under soft fluff, the venomous spines of Io moth caterpillars are easy to see. I appreciate a caterpillar that gives fair warning before it stings.

And here's another for all the ventral striatum / olfactory tubercle folks. It's hard not to love the Calleja and interface islands.

Juravenator had some clearly sharp toe claws, where the D-2 claw is much larger than the others and bears a prominent flexor tubercle. The D-3 claw also has a strong flexor tubercle, while the D-4 claw does not.

Woe betide any small animal that got pinned by this thing.

Haha, I can tell you probably the strangest book I cataloged was Huber the Tuber, "an imaginary tubercle bacillus whose adventures in Lungland are described and pictured in this book"
Ok, cool. What's your weirdest interaction with a book? No, that sucks. Give me a second. Uhhhhhhh -- If you were to beat your worst enemy with a book, which would you choose? Yeah, good one, Marzano.

Today I helped the archaeologist dry screen some backhoe piles in a Pueboan site for faunal remains and I found a salamander atlas! ID’d by bicondylar anterior articulations, notochordal centrum, and presence of the interglenoid tubercle (dashed line). #FossilFriday 🧪🦖

Delighted to find my first Norfolk Homalenotus quadridentatus. A small juvenile under a brick in the gardens at Tacolneston Hall, found on a visit yesterday with Norfolk Fungus Study Group. This is a very scarce species in Norfolk. #Arachtober #Opiliones #Harvestmen #Arachnids

There are some absolute units of Missouri pincushion (Escobaria missouriensis ssp. missouriensis) in the Flint Hills. In winter they dessicate, causing the stems to retract below the surface & leaving just tubercle tips exposed. Also protects them from fire...in the dormant season or during drought.
