there's nothing wrong with that. I'm sure most tutorials pack in info as tightly as possible so people actually watch them, but that doesn't mean that's a good pace for learning. Practice and repetition is the only thing that will actually bake in the lessons

The thing that got me the furthest was just religiously watching tutorials and trying to make studying "fun." I would spend hours doodling silly characters with friends, giving them as accurate anatomy as we could manage just for the fun of it. I much prefer that to dry repetition and copying

I started @freecodecamp.bsky.social’s Full Stack course in March and finished up all the HTML and several CSS modules, as well as tinkering around on my own and following some YouTube tutorials, and it’s wild how much is easy for me now after so much repetition.

The art tutorials were right drawing from your arm and drawing hundreds of lines a day do make you improve Ive done nothing but draw lines for the last few days and they're getting straighter
Turns out practice and repetition do improve your skills thats fucked up now I got no excuse to be bad

A friend of mine with ADHD swears by the Figma tutorials on Udemy by Arash Ahadzadeh (he also has YT channel with free stuff). Lots of small projects for context-based learning, good repetition without being boring so it gets engrained.

i learned to be a fast typist just by messaging my friends and looking up art tutorials as a teen - having IM convos is really good spaced repetition training "for free" and i would like a similarly-paced option for building piano muscle memory. i guess? it's hard to articulate this well
