#Interestingly Tuxedo Junction was an all-female vocal studio creation. A novelty hit, but one that fit right in during the peak of disco's anything-goes era. #TuxedoJunction #OneHitWondered #MusicSky

Tuxedo Junction was a short-lived project, but a memorable one: nostalgia, horns, harmony, & disco all riding the same train. The project remains a stellar example of how music history repeats, reinvents, and ultimately forces everyone onto the dance floor. #TuxedoJunction #OneHitWondered #MusicSky

Tuxedo Junction followed with more big-band/disco hybrids, including “Moonlight Serenade” & “Take the ‘A’ Train,” continuing the nostalgic trend… but nothing else charted on the US #Billboard #Hot100 #TuxedoJunction #OneHitWondered #MusicSky

Instead of treating the old songs as museum pieces, Tuxedo Junction kept the lush horn arrangements from the swing era and backed ‘em with female harmony vocals, & a steady four-on-the-floor pulse built for the dance floors. #TuxedoJunction #OneHitWondered
