Lotta y’all weren’t there in the old Twitter days when the “tweetups” would occur. Because there was little actual structure and curation, it opened the door to SA and other scandal.

Back in 2008/2009, I would host tweetups for the local twitterati. Bluesky still feels a lot like twitter from those days, but I'm worried not everyone would know what to expect from a skeetup

Recruited postdocs and grad students there.
Had impact upon national policy there.
Built communities around broad governmental missions like NASA (Tweetups), and more.

We’re in a Korean chicken shop and feeling nostalgic for the London tweetups of old where we’d get completely stotious, often at the expense of Simon Bishop (RIP, Angel), and then stumble to Chicken Cottage before getting the night bus home. I miss those days, when everyone was alive.
