When I attempted the 1,900km "Race Around The Netherlands" a few years ago I carried about a kilo of porridge oats. I never did manage to eat of it.
But then I did manage to poison myself and fail to finish. Needed an ambulance too, you know.

Ultra distance walkers know this as “incremental fuckwittery” after a random distance, every mile makes you dumber, until you hallucinate and it all goes a bit wrong.
It is almost never fatal, but often very funny in hindsight.
