Yep. I'm trying to think of a movie with Nazis and no totenkopfs. Maybe one focused on North Africa or uboats would be the most likely, but in film they're more ubiquitous than they were in irl.

My Dads brother served in the RN underage in WW2. One of the things they found unforgiveable about the German navy (uboats and all) was leaving stricken men in the sea when their vessel had been destroyed. Welcome, you have matched the Nazi’s for callousness in this regard too.

In fairness, this was in reply to a post about the Great War but fuck me airpower was not a big feature of the war at sea there either. And whilst uboats intermittently caused Britain problems (and possibly bounced the USA into war) they didn't solve the German problem of the North Sea being sealed.

Theres unexploded ordnance dropped on the london that had notes being like the polish workers stand with you
also fucked up uboat construction tho some of it was just due to speare. Uboats were made in 8 sections and had to align perfectly and often didnt. Nazi sailors discovered these flaws at sea

My favorite WW2 trivia is that after the war, they sometimes found tiny graffiti on broken panzer parts in places where you’d never see unless you took the tank apart that basically said “lmao, my conquered ass is sabotaging this bitch.”

Honestly, if German Uboats had been more discerning about targets in the Atlantic, I'm not sure the American attitude towards the axis shifts enough to make war a popular decision.
