Classic, UDP versus TCP

Look out carrier pigeon protocol, time to build a one to many broadcast protocol with starlings and create a distributed internet

It's basically the UDP to carrier pigeon TCP

I will not be accepting questions at this time. #udp #tcp

UDP and TCP are applying for the same job position in a big IDC. The interviewer asks, "What's your biggest weakness?" UDP says, "I have no follow-through." TCP says, "I overthink everything and need constant reassurance for all my tasks." The job interviewer, hires UDP for his "go-getter" attitude.

TCP ist Datenübertragung mit Sendungsverfolgung.

UDP ist: „Hab’s in deine Richtung geworfen.“

tcp eher rechts, udp eher links

On a train, tethered. SSHing into my dev machine via Wireguard VPN: slow as hell. SSHing into my server, then SSHing into my dev machine: hella fast. Anyone have theories for me? UDP throttled, TCP chill?

this may be a stupid question but is there a reason you can't just disguise your udp packets as tcp packets without actually implementing tcp
from what I gathered reading about quic I imagine network engineers regularly wake up in the middle of the night screaming about what enterprise middleware does to udp

TCP vs UDP for beginners. 😂

Just had my internet "go down" for like the whole day.
Very weird symptoms:

I could UDP and ICMP just fine, it was just TCP that didn't work -- which meant some sites like google.com or facebook.com worked as they use HTTP/3 (based on QUIC which is basically TCP over UDP), but anything else failed.

Facção do TCP domina morro do UDP. A guerra de protocolos chegou a níveis absurdos.

I love a good TCP/IP joke!

(In some way UDP jokes are better though, because it doesn’t matter if anyone gets them)

TCP is breeding, UDP is cumming on his lower back.

TCP packets are so polite that they shake hands with each other before transferring data. They also say "bless you" when another packet sneezes. UDP packets, on the other hand, just scream their data into the void and hope someone's listening. It's the "yolo" of networking protocols 😂

TCP and UDP are the two most commonly used protocols to send/receive data on the Internet Protocol (🎨 by me)

Kink is TCP, not UDP!
remember, the most important part of kink is negotiation!

always determine what baud rate, data bits, stop bits*, and parity you'll be using!
And software or hardware handshaking.

No… Your streaming video and audio don’t use TCP. They use UDP. A ping uses ICMP. IP is just the protocol that ferries packets from one host to another. TCP layers on top of it. But so do UDP and ICMP.

reposting yourself is TCP retransmission I’m mostly UDP, if it didn’t hit it dies on the scroll back

Shortly after the pandemic broke out, all TCP applications were converted to UDP to avoid handshakes
