Indian Railways conducts successful trial run on the world's highest Chenab Rail Bridge in J&K, set to boost connectivity in the Kashmir Valley.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, June 6 to inaugurate several major infrastructure projects, including Chenab Bridge and Anji Bridge. According to PMO, the visit will focus on improving rail and road connectivity in the region. During his J&K tour, the PM will flag off two Vande Bharat Express trains between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar and also dedicate the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), a 272 km project which includes 36 tunnels and 943 bridges and all weather rail connectivity to the Kashmir Valley.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates the all-weather Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), connecting the Kashmir Valley to the rest of India.

Modi will start his visit on June 6 by dedicating to public the Chenab rail bridge, which is a key part of the 272-km Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla railway link (USBRL) that will provide direct train connectivity to the valley.

The USBRL project has been a monumental undertaking, initially sanctioned in 1994-95, and is now on the verge of completion.
