Not local but I figured this would win on both metrics. USCGA in New London. 0.19miles. It has been over a decade and a half since I have been up there but I chose the most accurate walking path even though it includes a major pinch point. This water is more brackish at times but I’ll count it.

A USCGA alum is a client, and so I see his posts on LinkedIn congratulating other alums on achievements, and all of them seem to have captained a boat between years 6-10.

We did our own at USCGA? Though the machines were free to use, and there was a sort of honor system where you moved the previous load along to an available dryer, hung the bag with dry clothes, etc. So we kinda all did each other’s laundry.

My son said having to climb to the top of the masts was the scariest thing he had to do at the USCGA.
