I dropped mine in a blue USPS box on lakeview last Sunday, didn’t get a confirmation email until today

Election officials in south Florida say they're alarmed at how slow USPS is delivering ballots.

Now we need a fifth category: mail ballots deep-sixed by the USPS
October 31, 2026 at 7:49 PM
Put otherwise: In states that require ballots to arrive by Tuesday, you can't expect a ballot you haven't yet mailed would arrive if you hand it to USPS now.

And in states that only require a postmark by Tuesday, you can't rely that the USPS will postmark it in time if you don't watch them.

on the other side of this we are going to have to fix the USPS
Many states (like Ohio, or Kansas) over the last 18 months have repealed their "grace periods," meaning that ballots that arrive after Election Day will not count even if they were sent well in advance.

That happened as we knew USPS would have major delays.

I really want to trust the USPS again. Maybe someday.
📩 Election officials across the country are warning that significant delays in mail ballot returns could end up disenfranchising voters.

One county supervisor of elections said the troubling delays are new this year, with a lack of transparency worsening the situation: https://demdock.com/4iR4KGQ

That’s why they installed a stooge at the USPS
New research from the University of Washington found that ongoing mail delays from the United States Postal Service could double the percentage of ballots that arrive too late to be counted.

Distrust of USPS is one big reason for the huge surge in in-person early voting.

In this piss poor environment, the USPS can not be trusted to even deliver mail in ballots. Vote in person or bring your ballot to an election drop box.

In the 11 predominately rural counties in eastern Washington, nearly 2,000 ballots came in late in 2026, compared to about 600 in 2022.

It’s the result of cost-cutting changes at USPS that have caused delays in mail pickup.
Ballot Rejections Soared in Rural Counties After USPS Reduced Mail Service
A ProPublica data analysis shows that delays resulting from the agency’s cost-cutting measures have endangered the validity of ballots mailed in rural areas. Counties that voted for Trump in 2024 have...

I drove through 3 Ohio cities to drop off my ballot , because thanks to the orange Pedo , we can't even trust the USPS anymore.

If there is a Democratic voter in this country who still trusts the USPS, I'd like to meet him.

Sooo, I put my mail ballot in a blue USPS drop box on October 8. Ballot Scout says it still hasn't been received and scanned in to my local election office.

So definitely don't use the mail if you can help it.
Updating my advice given timing:

—If you already have a mail ballot, you can put it in a drop box.

—If you must mail it, & are in a state with a grace period (=rule is postmark by Election Day), you should go to counter & watch them postmark.

—If your state has no grace period... it is late.
*so important*: if you’re voting by mail, assume the USPS will delay because it’s its policy.

You can:
—put it in drop box
—go to counter to watch them postmark in front of you
—if you’re dropping it in a mailbox, do it VERY EARLY.

We got our ballots in the mail a couple weeks ago. Filled them out the next day and put them in a drop box. Can’t trust usps. It really should be this easy across the country.
