Shooting competitively doesn’t teach a whole lot about accuracy but goddamn does it ever shake down your gear. If it can brake, jam, or fall out it will on the clock and you gotta learn to fix it RIGHT NOW.

I worked retail firearms sales and shot USPSA while going through the academy so I got a lot of trigger time on handguns and thus firm opinions on what I like and .40sw was never it. I found .45acp handled better for me but I like the weight savings, capacity, and speed of a 9mm.

Truth is I like the Smith and Wesson MP9L better than anything in the Glock line.
Had another buddy that was an HK fan boy but he had the USPSA master card to prove it worked for him.
It really does come down to what pistol feels good enough you train with it.

I don’t follow any too much anymore but I like going to baseball/football games. For ones I actually participate in I like target shooting. I want try uspsa or 2 gun matches sometime.

No. Entirely untrue. I participate in both idpa and uspsa shooting competitions so that’s one use case. Also I carry one for self defense and they’re really good at that.

I just can’t swing new gun cash anymore. I haven’t even retrofitted my Glock for an optic because I don’t do anything real world anymore and the idea of a USPSA or IDPA match in Massachusetts makes me want to do things that would revoke my firearms permit permanently.
