And I'll bet my bubble that's why the CG of USSOUTHCOM resigned: he wasn't being allowed to provide his input into what was actually going on in his AOR and he was constantly being blindsided by Trump circumventing the chain and ordering the strikes directly under the guise of "national security".

I cannot stress how dangerous this is. Sending the most modern and powerful US aircraft carrier is NOT how you do counternarcotics. This is about forcing regime change in Venezuela. It’s easy to start a war, but it can take many years to get out.
