"Manufacturing jobs" have that connotation because of unions. "30-and-out" retirement w/ a defined-benefit pension, health insurance for yourself & your spouse -- thank the UAW, the USWA, and so on.

I just realized how insane it likely sounds to younger folk that there's a generation of wrestling fans who had their interest in older territorial wrestling developed by ESPN running reruns of World Class/USWA in chronological order every day after school for ~3 years.
It sounds like a mirage.

Wrestling should only ever be on ESPN if it's airing at 4:00 p.m. on weekdays.
