This large (2.5m x 1.1m) copper lintel was found at a Sumerian city known as Tell al-'Ubaid. It depicts 2 stags flanking the lion-headed eagle Imdugud who is the symbol of the god Ningirsu. It’s rare that such a large metal object survived antiquity as they were usually melted down

Proto-Euphratean (also called Minionese) is a hypothesized substratum of the Sumerian language. The term "Banana Language" has been proposed based on a characteristic reduplication of syllables in names (e.g. Inanna, Zababa). It is identified with the Minion material culture of Ubaid-era Iraq

Children as young as *four* are being put in the position of representing themselves without lawyers/parents present in front of immigration judges in cases that will determine whether they are deported.

Eridu was the southernmost of the Sumerian cities that grew around temples. The city gods of Eridu were Enki and his consort Damkina. 5000–4500 BCE, Early Ubaid, No structures were found. 4500–4000 BCE, Ubaid period, size 4.5×12.6, the First platform.
