A gallery isn’t just a place to look at art; it’s a place where people gather to remember they’re alive.

Actually I take that back a little I was just talking to my dad about how objectively great the Rembrandt and Velasquez were at the Ufizzi and Prado galleries.
I work hard to make stuff that is good. I don't believe in stuff that is great - that is in the eye of the beholder. But there are things that are good and things that are okay and some things are shit. It is okay to make things that are okay but I try to make things that are good.

I’m sure I saw that in the Ufizzi. Losing marbles at a rate of knots here.

London is excellent.

[15] He also painted the Doni Tondo (1506) & the Manchester Madonna. The Tondo (circular painting) is in the Ufizzi & the unfinished Madonna in the National Gallery in London. Tondo Pitti (1504-5) & Taddei Tondo (1505-6). He loved the Tondo format

Adoration Number 9. I took this adoration at The Ufizzi in Florence. Gerrit van Honthorst’s Adoration of the child 1620. He was affectionately known as ‘Gherardo delle Notti’, Gerard of the Nights. 🙏

Saturday I'm heading to Florence. As a treat I'll be avoiding the Duomo, Ufizzi, all museums & ignoring statues. I'll eat international spicy non italian food outside of italian eating hours, skulk along the riverside & backstreets all in a quest for english books.

I had to leave the Ufizzi Gallery after a few hours and have afternoon tea. Couldn't handle another painting in a gilded frame

He estado hace poco en Italia y me sorprendió el precio de los museos en comparación a los españoles. Ufizzi vs Prado. Museo Arquelógico de Florencia vs MAN.

Alarms sound and steel shutters slam down over every exit from the Uffizi. Ufizzi? Uffizzi?

Gallery.

When I was in The Ufizzi, I went straight for Giotto, I didn’t know enough about Duccio, studying him now at the moment, a fascinating character and his work is amazing. His Rucellai Madonna 💙

Savoldo’s Mary Magdalene, the gold version photos I took last month in The Ufizzi and photos I took last week at The NG London. And while I love both these paintings I think The Ufizzi (prototype) is beautiful. 💙

I love this painting so much. I saw it (at the Ufizzi?) three decades ago, purchased a print, carried it around Europe, had it framed when I started my first academic job, and have had it on my walls ever since. Stunning is right!
By Fra Filippo Lippi, Madonna and Child with Two Angels, 1465. Everything about this picture is stunning but I really love the angel smiling at us!

Veo tu Homer y subo la apuesta con este tremendo arcabuz ventral que emerge en posición de "levantemos el corazón“ (y que seguramente la galería Ufizzi expropió a algún convento florentino porque las monjas no paraban de santiguarse).
I have questions about Christ's abdominal region here
