Despite everything, The Hunchback of Notre Dame is still my favourite Disney animated feature film, wild unevenness and all.

Despite everything, The Hunchback of Notre Dame is still my favourite Disney animated feature film, wild unevenness and all.
For small creatures, even the slightest unevenness can feel like a huge step. There are also games that make use of changes in elevation. Nature offers endless opportunities for play.

This art is painted on watercolor paper, so the surface of the paper is quite uneven. Since my art is very detailed, the unevenness of the paper makes the production environment very difficult. However, it is also fun to conquer this environment.

I wonder how much of this (very fair) critique is that the creators are not from the US - they're (white?) Australians, and that means as kids they knew US culture only as an export. It's a weird unevenness stemming from how ubiquitous US storytelling is that I don't quite know is resolvable?
also, having 0 hiphop on the soundtrack was a travesty. every "alternative" white kid in the 90s was into hiphop in some form or another. you could've used lollapalooza as a guide for this. a tribe called quest, de la soul, beastie boys, arrested development... like come on!!!!
mixtape, to me, felt like a "i'm in my 40s and don't really remember the specifics of my childhood but it kinda all ran togethr" type story rather than "90s rebellious teen simulator." also, my biggest RATIONAL complaint is that they called the cocteau twins SHOEGAZE. THEY'RE DREAMPOP.
