At the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show, UnifyDrive has announced a new network attached storage device featuring a built-in tablet-style display, and AI-powered features in the operating system.

Pixelmob is a new prototype that UnifyDrive calls an “imaging asset hub” that is being marketed towards content creators.

The UnifyDrive UT2 is a good idea, I just wish it was executed better.

UnifyDrive has been making network-attached storage devices for a few years, but up until recently the company has focused on a specific niche: mobile systems that can be powered by batteries and used just about anywhere. The UnifyDrive UT2 is a pocket-sized model, while the UP6 is basically a mini PC with a battery and support for mass storage. But now the company is launching two models that look more like traditional NAS systems.

Designed for creators, travelers, and professionals who need secure, flexible, and powerful storage solutions on the move.

The UnifyDrive UP6 is a portable computer that's also a network-attached storage device. Or maybe it's a NAS that's also a portable computer. Either way, it's an unusual solution that you can use as a PC or file server at home, a portable storage backup device on the go, or even as a (sort of) tablet thanks to the built-in battery and touchscreen display.

PixelMob is a portable storage device that's basically a computer. Positioned as a multi-function gadget for photographers and other creative professionals that want to back up their work on the go, it's a palm-sized gadget with 3 M.2 slots with support for PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSDs, SD card, microSD and CFExpress readers, and Thunderbolt 4 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A and Type-C ports.
