i still wish unity7 was ported to wayland with fractional resolution scaling and battery charge limits though (i'm a laptop user primarily)

Not really, another defining characteristic of Unity is the global menu (menus are detached from the app window and placed at the top), or the lenses (the Amazon one became famous for the wrong reasons)...
