I feel like the word “unjustifiable” sounds TOO SOFT. The people of Gaza are facing so much threats and mass destruction that the word “unjustifiable” doesn’t completely describe what they’re at risk of. I doubt he means anything he said here

There are a lot of parallels between October 7th and September 11th. Two things can be true at the same time: terrorists can hate and try to destroy Israel & America through violent and unjustifiable means, and Israeli & American governments can aid and abet terrorists in their efforts to do so.

I do think this misses the vibes around AI. Lots of people hate the technology and the industry promoting it, which means any negative externalities (i.e. grid impacts) are considered unjustifiable and seem worse by comparison to things like cars and buildings.

I now consider it unjustifiable to spend any money on video games developed by major companies. "Supporting the devs" means supporting the publishers as well at this point. Every dollar I spend on a hypothetical Wolfenstein 3 is another dollar that goes into the pockets of MSFT.
