Yeah that's how RePop look! Everything is BLINDINGLY bright to where you cant see the effects properly since they swapped the engine from the game's original Unreal3 to Unreal5

i still think it looks like unreal5 nonsense. the music only gets it so far

I already wasn't a fan of the samey results that Unreal5 games have. AI coding means all games produced with UE6 will be innately poisoned with bloat code and even less optimized. #Unreal is now solidly a "do not buy" factor
Following Tim Sweeney's remarks of a "huge pivot" towards AI at Epic, we asked the company what tools they're using to develop Unreal Engine, just how much they're vibe-coding, and whether they're concerned about backlash.

Here's what Epic's EVP of Development, Marcus Wassmer, said to us:
Epic Games Confirms AI is Being Used to "Develop Code and Features for Unreal Engine"
"We are more concerned about the risks of moving too slowly than we are about AI skepticism"

Behind the scenes ^^

Besides planning and finalizing a nice picture, there is a lot of background work; one of them is building/coding one's own shader for #blender3d, which I am also about to translate to #unreal5 .

It may dont look like a lot, but it's a huge change in the workflow.

(and not a single crash or even a major stutter on pretty modest hardware for 2026, just the usual ‘tick’ stutter from loading in a new part of the map, which is inescapable in unreal5 games for some reason)

Here's the full video for those who prefer to watch it here instead of on YouTube. I can't stop crying. My brother deserves an award for this level of shenanigans LOL

heck the original game had forced lock-on to whoever was the last unit being hit by your moveset and it still looks much more freeing still compared to a unreal5 game that takes longer to load its in-engine cutscenes than the original PS2 title

Literally my only thing I'm like ehhhh on for the OOT remake is Link looks VERY out of place... like I feel like even with some shaders being tweaked he'd fit in nicer. It's just jarring to see an almost 1:1 HD version of a model from OOT3D and then the camera pulls out and unreal5-ass Link is there

it literally looks like how I remember my childhood

like for real I look at it and I am like "huh nothing changed" then I look at the real game and am like "noooo it didn’t look that blocky and old did it?"

it does look a little plastic and unreal5 ish but still rather happy overall

Mmmm, je sais pas
J'ai encore l'impression de voir un fan made Unreal5 à gros budget
Ça fait un peu… cheap ?
Je sais pas dire

In one hand I really enjoy the look of all the added details to the textures and all. Like the tunics look very good.

But on the other hand, the whole picture has a very "Fan made remake in unreal5 that looks very bland" =\

Sci-fi hexagon shader progress 🔷
Love using "Material Parameter Collection" in #Unreal. Way cleaner to organize.
