I always freek out just a little when I see a white-tailed deer in the middle of the city. However, this guy was born here and always returns for a visit each year. I think he would be 3yrs old now. This pond is near one of our nature conservancies as well.

We were out for a walk by the South Saskatchewan River earlier this morning and spotted some White-Tailed Deer hanging out by an apartment block. Usually it’s Mule Deer around here.

The deer are a greyish brown colour in this light and their large ears are pointed in our direction. Their black tipped tails are tucked in. A photo of a Purple Calla Lily blossom amongst some white daisies. in the background is an Oya pot, some of our Wild Strawberry plants and the broad green leaves of the lily. A photo of some early blue berries amongst some Strawberry plants. The berries aren't large, but a few of them are ready to pick. The blueberry bushes and strawberries are surrounded by a mesh screen to keep the birds away from the fruit.
