#Uveitis,
uveitis going strong today
November 5, 2026 at 12:04 AM
My uveitis flared this week.
Saw my optician Friday.
App't made with my eye Consultant at the hospital today.
Allan, my first eye implant has run out.
So on Thursday I'm getting implants in BOTH eyes.
Some pain, then 12 hours of pretty bad pain, then 3 months of clearish vision.
Bravo Scottish NHS.

Going for more blood work and x rays. Her intern was pretty sure it is psoriatic arthritis but the doctor wasn’t having it. I know there is something wrong with me. She said “ well I can give you drugs if that’s what you want” but it’s not what I want. Said the scleritis and uveitis could be a fluke

Thank you, I’m coping the best I can… on 8/11 I woke & out of nowhere, I couldn’t see out of my left eye at all. I was rushed to a retina specialist, they diagnosed me with ‘idiopathic posterior uveitis’. It’s been 3months of hell dealing wit. 😓Thanks love. 😘

It is wild that during the first COVID wave, I got a blur spot that I thought was PVD, and it took forever to identify that I actually had uveitis that had killed a patch of retinal cells! My auto-immune disorder crept into my eye.

Glad you're on top of your condition hopefully.

eye with the initial problem seemed to be on the mend. he had to be tested for FIV and FeLV, but thankfully those were negative. we still aren’t really sure what caused the uveitis, but he seems to be recovering and feeling better after a brief time on pain meds and ongoing eye drops.

Experience in #Uveitis should deepen our curiosity & humility-familiar patterns help, but every patient can challenge what we think we know

Dr Gupta highlights that listening, revisiting assumptions & knowing when to ask colleagues are skills we dont finish learning

4 años buscando problemas relacionados con la gota. Los análisis daban perfecto el ácido úrico, pero ellos buscaban gota.
Si no llega a ser por la uveítis y el especialista que me vio y la conectó con la artritis, todavía seguirían buscando gota.

Comment on:Incidence, Prevalence, and Clinical Associations of Non-Infectious Pediatric Uveitis in the United States: A TriNetX Database Study
Nijim et al reported that the annual incidence of pediatric noninfectious uveitis in TriNetX increased from 22 to 33 per 100,000 people between 2016 and 2025, and concluded that both incidence and prevalence rose over the decade1. The central validity question is not whether case detection improved, but rather whether disease incidence can be identified from records with patient-specific and potentially evolving observation histories.
