Brady Golan has been suspended from taking part in qualifying for the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge at Circuit of the Americas. The penalty is the result of ignoring orders from Race Control to stop after his crash. Instead he continued on, depositing car parts everywhere.

Tunjo had been fighting Brady Golan and Danny Soufi for the lead for the majority of the race. However, Soufi went a lap down due to an unscheduled stop. Tunjo lost the lead after a crash with Jon Hirshberg, but then Golan spun into the tire barriers by himself.
