I would also strongly encourage the VRTC to consider adopting transit priority signalling especially downtown, where short block lengths make bus riders suffer through seemingly endless waits to just get out of the downtown core because light favour private vehicles instead of buses.

I sincerely hope we will see a push from the VRTC for bus lanes to improve speeds and reliability - and not just on Island Highway and McKenzie. Shelbourne, Quadra, maybe queue jumps on Esquimalt.

I don’t think that’s really the dynamic, the VRTC is made up of mayors/councillors, and has the power to levy taxes. It’s just a mess of a system that the CRD wants to supplant.
