“Stupidity Thrives In Vagueness.” 🤣

note that you do not have to do one damn thing to the customers to make this work, you just need to bring the exploitable vagueness of the supplements market under the regulatory umbrella

What I'm taking from this is how vague and meaningless these genAI disclosures are allowed to be. You really have no idea what they used it for. Could be textures, could be concept art, could be they just used a transcription tool for meetings. The vagueness sucks.
SEGA using Gen AI to "provide better content" for Crazy Taxi, get the fuck out of here

The Judge Ross apology letter that has been unearthed by the NYTimes is pretty offensive in its vagueness and lack of responsibility.

Forever enthralled by the siren song of sketchy vagueness that always leads to misery.

So, here’s the thing:

This thing seems facially unconstitutional. Vagueness, procedural due process, maybe even nondelegation. Even if Rubio is invoking it, which doesn’t seem clear.

Yes, there’s a case.
Yes, this is a REALLY important exception to what I’ve said earlier about the Secretary of State’s authority — and as I was discussing earlier, could well be what happened here.

There IS a law which authorizes deportation when the Secretary of State PERSONALLY says the person should be deported.

The vagueness is the point. It's erasure of trans existence.

Vagueness and timidity. Just what 2026 voters are calling for.

I think the subject of Tuesday’s newsletter is going to be about how weird AI is. It’s genuinely strange we have an entire industry that’s mostly sold on what people wish it did and a vagueness usually reserved for timeshare salesmen

...was its deliberate vagueness. What does “promoting homosexuality” mean for example? This vagueness resulted in almost all teachers playing it safe and excluding any mention of being gay at all.

Labour's trans Section 28 is much worse than the original Section 28 however...

You might want to rephrase that “woke” part but otherwise stellar high-sounding vagueness

Indeed

To quote Ken / Popehat: "Vagueness in legal threats is the hallmark of meritless thuggery."

I'm no big city lawyer but if you're suing for libelslander shouldn't you include, like, even one single quote that you claim is a false statement of fact somewhere

So much of this relies on the vagueness of the threats to command obedience. Would love to see more resources on how vagueness operates of a tool of creeping authoritarianism.
West Virginia allows prosecution of librarians for distributing "obscene" material. Part of a broader trend of making public employees more vulnerable, driven by a moral panic about obscenity and grooming. www.newsandsentinel.com/news/local-n...

Regarding the actual content of @mbkplus.bsky.social’s post, I think because I’m a fellow astro/physicist, I read in it a concern for the vagueness of “a lot of water” compared to “a lot of water compared to this community’s supply and needs,” which is more specific about naming the harm

It's all so "she made me do it" blaming the victim, and this iteration closely echoes a previous admin. one. Rhetoric justifies bloodshed in this frame, and his rhetoric uses the passive tense/vagueness to avoid saying 'we will shed blood.'
Homan: "I begged for the last two months on TV for the rhetoric to stop. I said in March -- if the rhetoric doesn't stop, there is gonna be bloodshed. And there has been. I wish I wasn't right. I don't want to see anybody die."

Top Trump officials are reportedly working to identify groups whose activities “led to” violence, whatever that means. The vagueness is the point: The people's government is actively looking for political activity they can *pretend* to link to violence. 5/

Vagueness, in the hands of an autocrat, is a scary, dangerous weapon
The vagueness of just which programs need to be frozen under the new OMB memo really says to me that they're hoping groups preemptively shut down their programs that get federal funds and use that as proof that they were woke all along
