Rue Champlain connects the Plateau neighbourhood with the Pont Jacques Cartier bridge entrance on this protected wiiiide bike lane.
It's a big improvement vs previously just bombing down the big hill at woohoo speed or climbing up at the edge of the street beside the car traffic.

What so few bike-network haters seem to understand is that more cyclists=fewer cars.

A safer, dedicated, intelligent network means many more cyclists, ergo much less traffic. For those times and those people who don’t have a choice but to drive. Not complicated.

Why did the #ValériePlante led #ProjetMontréal administration FAIL to denounce the genocide in 2025, or even 2024?

This looks like cynical political posturing to me & other #Montrealers.

The Montréal municipal election of 2017 was not an endorsement of #ValériePlante & #ProjetMontréal, but a protest vote to push #DenisCoderre out.

The 2021 election might have ended Val Plante's "reign", but #EnsembleMontréal made the HUGE mistake of allowing Denis Coderre to be its candidate again.

Yes, "l'homme de la situation" #ValériePlante should be ashamed of not only allowing Montreal's #homelessness problem to persist, but to significantly worsen, while she was mayor of #Montréal for 8 years.

The same can be said about #ProjetMontreal as a political party.

It seems they have no shame.

She said she would not.

One of our central roles is to defend the right to freedom of expression. We raise our voices against domestic and international violations of freedom of expression. Today, we write to raise PEN’s voice about the arrest of author and journalist, Mr. Yves Engler. It is our understanding that Mr. Engler has been arrested and was detained for his pro-Palestinian writing. It is not clear to us whether Mr. Engler has been charged or what charges he is facing. But if it is true that he has indeed been arrested and detained and is either facing charges or has already been charged, the actions taken by the Montreal Police raise serious questions about impartiality and respect for the fundamental rights to freedom of expression.
