At least the Vanderbilts, Carnegies and Rockefellers built universities and libraries.

The Ellison family is cornering the market on attention and data the same way the Vanderbilts did railroads and the Rockefellers did oil.

In Trump’s America, billionaire and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison is a kind of shadow president. Meanwhile, the Ellison family is cornering the market on attention and data the same way the Vanderbilts did railroads and the Rockefellers did oil.

the vanderbilts are not amused
Turned on CNN and it’s wild to see how much they’re creaming their jeans at the thought of cops brutalizing Columbia students. Entire coverage pushing unfounded conspiracy theories that the protesters aren’t even students, guests uniformly demanding the cops go in immediately, completely batshit

Larry and David Ellison did not return requests for comment.

Vanderbilts and Rockefellers seem like a pretty handy historical guide
The trillionaire mark is just a milestone. Musk already had enough money to personally buy a whole company or single-handedly influence a presidential election.

But we should consider what it means that one man has amassed so much wealth and power — and the speed at which he is doing so.

No way the gilded age was this bad unless the vanderbilts and Rockefellers were slipping insane racist notes into your mail slot every 15 minutes

The Carnegies. The Vanderbilts. JP Morgan, who almost singlehandedly controlled the nation money's supply. Wild swings occurred in the stock market. Working people were paid pennies.

Anderson Cooper is proof that the Vanderbilts should have been hunted down in their mansion like the Romanoffs

Today Tesla 📉
Tomorrow Amazon 📉

These billionaires genuinely believe they are invincible. Just look at the Vanderbilts.

We built you. We can and will destroy you.

(complaining to my next door neighbors, the Vanderbilts, over a glass of 1982 Chateau Mouton Rothschild in the Rotunda of the Pierre Hotel, which is also next door to where I live)

It now costs me nine dollars when I drive my matte black Porsche Cayenne 18 blocks in Manhattan
This one’s pretty good

We Are Witnessing the Rise of a New Aristocracy The wealth of tech titans makes Rockefellers and Vanderbilts look quaint. In the last 2 years, 19 families have added $1.8 trillion to their coffers-the size of the economy of Australia.

Like the Rockefellers and Vanderbilts and Morgans and Carnegies they will take and take and take.

But they will leave solely crap in their wake. If we’re lucky, maybe some kitsch. But basically nothing.

from Haarlem, converted to Islam, became admiral of a Moroccan corsair republic, and led Moroccan pirates on a slave raid on Iceland.

Janszoon's son went to New Amsterdam and some of America's aristocrats, including Whitneys and Vanderbilts, are descended from him.

All of this sounds made up. (/2)

Man it really is Delightful Spam Day over in the ol' ICC inbox!

[REDACTED], I sincerely doubt the Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, or Rothschilds are interested in funding 35 million dollars' worth of pervert comics. Tweak your scraper/automailer.
