Well, except fooling around at the dormitories. So we did exactly that!

I’ve never lived in those places, but I grew up near Little Ukraine in NYC (which also had a substantial Polish and Jewish presence) and we would often get varenyky from this old lady who made them at a deli on 1st Ave, among other options. So I appreciate the vibe

Now more than ever, varenyky are a symbol of Ukrainian identity and a testament to resistance against Russian neocolonialism. Varenymaking and eating varenyky is part of what it means to be Ukrainian. And every Ukrainian family has a varenyky recipe they pass down from generation to generation.
